![]() Of course, there are companion iPhone, watchOS, and macOS apps too.Īs I sat down to write this update, Day One has been acquired by Automattic, the parent company of, Tumblr, and more. It is lightning fast to capture tasks and generally performs better than Apple's Reminders app. I love that it provides the focus and attention that I need, based on my current context. If you are a fan of the GTD methodology, then Things is the app for you. Things updates continue to come in often, and it is still my favourite reminders app. One of the features that I love is the customized views that are location-aware - different calendar sets can be displayed at multiple locations and times, with preferences synchronized across all my devices (iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch) Natural language input, fast search, multiple calendar support, reminders integration, built-in weather data, today widget, and speech-to-text capabilities make all other calendar apps look like toys. It is STILL the BEST calendaring experience on iOS. It is indispensable to my company and me.įantastical, the name says it all. I have set up hooks/integrations for Salesforce, Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, Trello, IFTT, and more. When people ask where my office is, I still respond, "Slack." I use it for inter-office communication, office announcements, voice calls, video calls, and much more. It provides all the functionality needed for quick instant messaging for the handful of friends/customers/coworkers on Android. I have eliminated all Facebook services from my iOS devices with the change of their privacy policies. If you require cross-platform messaging, Signal is the only way to go. This app is still my go-to app for handwritten notes, and it is still a must-have! GoodNotes is searchable (including handwriting), can convert handwritten notes to text (yes, even the messiest writing), and there is a macOS version. The Apple Pencil + iPad Pro + GoodNotes is still the 1–2–3 punch for handwritten notes. I love the intelligent inbox, search speed (Apple's native app is still TERRIBLE at this), pinning messages, reminders, snoozing messages, customizable gestures, and third-party integrations. If you, like me, are still stuck processing emails, give Spark a look. From setting reminders to scheduling emails, Spark is the must-have email tool! I've recently created a dozen or more templates and discovered collaboration within Spark. It is improving with every release, but it still can't keep up with Spark. With so many free samples, I'm sure that you will find a "Shortcut for that" - if you can't please reach out, I'm happy to help. I use it to process meeting notes, update my Slack status, share information with my team, update Twitter, even aggregate my daily news feed. The feedback that I have received has been great, as Miro is MUCH more collaborative and engaging.Īpple's Shortcuts app helps me to automate many of my daily routines. I've stopped creating Keynote and PPT presentations, and I have moved everything to Miro. I use Miro EVERY DAY for ideation, brainstorming, research, design, planning, mapping, diagramming, teaching, and more. ![]() Miro has transformed the way I present and engage my team and customers. During the past year, I have had to give the vast majority of my collaborative workshops virtually. Miro has quickly made its way to the top of my list. It connects all my services and allows me to text, iMessage, email, call, Slack, and more from a single starting point. The team at Craft continues adding new features at an unbelievable pace - every couple of weeks.ĬardHop continues to change my workflow in a meaningful way, and it has moved its way up the list! Not only is it lightning-fast at capturing contact information (using natural language), it is where I go to start most outbound communication to people. Craft has all the power capability Evernote, Noteability, Bear, and Apple's Notes App. Craft also provides the ability to create a shared workspace for seamless collaboration. In addition, you can create an infinite number of beautifully styled pages/subpages with bi-directional linking. It is where I capture my structured and unstructured content: weblinks, PDF docs, notes, quick lists, and more. It is super fast to capture EVERYTHING (typed or via Siri), then process it with robust scripting actions (that anyone can set up).Ĭraft has become an indispensable part of my workflow. Drafts is still my go-to text capture app for iPad (iPhone and AppleWatch), letting you write first and then think about what to do with it later. A year ago, I published a list of my top 10 must-have iPad apps for executives in response to the question "how do you work like that"? Some have changed, some have moved down the list, and several new ones for 2021! I imagine that this will change with the introduction of iPad OS 15, but until then, here we go.
